Jennifer Carey, Office Manager

Jennifer first came to Fun & Fit as a parent with 2 of her 3 children enrolled. She has an Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has also been an Awana leader at her church since 2002. Jennifer enjoys working with children at Fun & Fit and recently has taken on additional responsibilities in our office.

Brittany Christensen, Instructor

Brittany has been in cheerleading and gymnastics since the age of 5. She was a cheerleader for the SCVAA Warriors from the age of 5 and until she was 10 years old. She went to many different gyms around the Santa Clarita Valley including Fun and Fit. She is now a Varsity Cheerleader at Canyon High School. She also plans to have a career in dentistry someday.

Sandy Klivens, Instructor

Sandy was introduced to gymnastics at age 44 when he began his association with Fun & Fit as a student in the Adult class. He enjoyed it so much he wanted to learn how to teach and began as a Teacher In Training (TNT) in 2003.

Sandy has always been active; in High School Sandy ran track and averaged 20 miles a day. He has enjoyed flying sailplanes and ultra lights, and has even flown a small French training jet. Sandy learned to ice-skate and passed the basic freestyle test. So, falling in love with gymnastics really should not be a surprise for anyone who knows Sandy.

Kim Koch, Instructor

Kim keeps herself busy as a stay at home mom and a day care provider. Her daughters have been attending Fun & Fit Gymnastics since 2001. She is excited about joining the fun & Fit team herself, and using her computer and office skills which she learned while earning her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from CSUN. She and her husband moved to the Santa Clarita Valley in 1992. She spends her free time painting murals for her three girls and landscaping her yard.

Rachel Doherty, Instructor

Rachel Doherty attends Canyon High School and will graduate in 2009. Athletics have always been a huge part of her life. She's a former dancer, has been tumbling since the 7th grade, ran cross country, is former competitive cheerleader and cheerleader for her high school. She also loves to play rugby.

Following high school Rachel plans on going into either the fire academy or nursing school to become an emergency room nurse or a fire fighter.

In 1991 Jeff began to license a self-esteem building curriculum developed at Fun & Fit to other gymnastics schools and fitness clubs. Since then, hundreds of gymnastics and youth fitness programs internationally have been licensed to use what is called the "Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program".

Alexander Gomez, Head Instructor

Alex has been doing gymnastics since the age of 3.  His mother, being a gymnast and instructor herself, harnessed his energy at a young age which started his passion for the sport.

Alex has been coaching since the age of 17 in the San Francisco bay area.  He worked as the Boys Program Director for 5 years and Preschool Program Director for 1 year prior to his employment at Fun & Fit Gymnastics.  He is excited to join the Fun and Fit team and when asked about his favorite aspect of coaching he put it very simply – “my kids”!

Shawni Pederson, Customer Service

A love for children and a previous enjoyable experience working in customer service prompted Shawni to apply at Fun and Fit. She has been excited to learn about the Fun and Fit program, and looks forward to interacting with members and promoting the program.

Shawni is a college graduate with degrees in music and communication. She teaches private music lessons and performs on the hammered dulcimer solo or with her family for weddings, parties, and music festivals.

In her spare time, Shawni loves to write, go backpacking, play volleyball, and serve in her church.

Tamie Day, Instructor

Tamie’s interest and passion for performing started at an early age.  With the support of her loving parents, she was enrolled at Ocean Tumblers Gymnastics in Virginia Beach, VA.  There her skills flourished into wonderful opportunities as a competitive cheerleader.  Dancing, tumbling, and stunt building became daily disciplines between traveling to various places within the south eastern region to perform.

After graduating high school, Tamie moved 2,735 miles away from home to earn an Associate of Arts degree from FIDM, while studying at Playhouse West concurrently.  As she succeeded with her studies, Tamie also discovered a love of teaching others.  She is dedicated to building confidence in a new generation of athletes while aiding them in reaching their own success.

Keith Smith, Instructor

Keith competed in wrestling and cheerleading in high school and after graduating, competed on an International Cheerleading team. He teaches in both the Simi Valley Fun & Fit Imagymnation Gymnastics and the Canyon Country locations and loves working with kids.  Keith enjoys playing hockey in his free time.

With his experience in construction work, Keith is the Facility Director of the Simi Valley location and helps with maintenance of equipment.

It is his future hope to become a zoologist and work with animals.

Bethany has been a gymnast since the age of 4 and has also trained in a variety of contemporary dance. She holds big dreams to one day own her own gymnastics school, but for now is very excited to be an instructor for Fun & Fit Gymnastics so she can work on developing good technique in her teaching and bring more success to her students.

Cassie Manent, Instructor

Cassie is currently a senior at Cal State University Northridge majoring in public relations. She plans to become a teacher and has three years of experience in the classroom as an assistant. She is thankful for the opportunity to provide self-esteem and guidance for our youth.

Cassie loves children and is excited to be an instructor here at Fun & Fit Gymnastics.

Christy Bouchard, Instructor

Christy has been involved in gymnastics off and on since she was 3-years-old. She began attending Fun & Fit at the age of 6. Four years later, she joined our Demonstration Team and continued performing with the team for 3 years. At the age of 15, Christy joined our Teacher in Training program, and continued as a “TNT” until she became an instructor 3 years later.

Christy left Fun & Fit to go to school, but she just couldn’t stay away. She returned in the summer of 2007 to help with our day camp, and she has been with us ever since.

Christy has continued her education, currently working on her B.S. in Business Accounting at CSUN, and plans to get her CPA license.
